Italian, Renaissance, sculpture, Spring, flora,
charcoal on paper
24 x 18 inches

After completing an interpretation of Raphael's work, I didn't want to stop!
So I went looking for what would be an appropriate companion to that piece. I found photos of a couple of sculptures completed during the Renaissance that met with my aesthetic. Flora is a compilation of those fine ladies.
While working on her, I kept thinking of the sculptors' inspiration. Were these ladies their sisters? Their wives or lovers? Their daughters?

The original as well as prints are available at my Etsy shop!
