guardian of transportation, Cleveland, Lorain-Carnegie Bridge, famous bridges
Guardian of Transportation
charcoal on paper
26 x 23 inches

A conversation with a wonderful gentleman inspired me to create this. He said that if he would ever get a tattoo, it would be of a Guardian of Transportation. Being of a certain age now, he feels it is no longer appropriate. But back in the day!!!

The Hope Memorial Bridge, formerly known as the Lorain-Carnegie Bridge, is an art deco truss bridge. Each pylon has a pair of statues holding a method of transportation used at the time of its creation in 1927. Their faces are very compelling. I used the most youthful and friendly looking one!

The original as well as prints are available in my Etsy Shop.
